
AltElxn 2025 – Independent Federal Election Coverage
#AltElxn 2025 is a coordinated national project by the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC), bringing together over 30 radio stations and local journalists from across the country.
Our goal is to offer independent, community-based election coverage that highlights national issues through a local lens. With a focus on authentic voices and community impact, the series explores the stories, candidates, and concerns shaping the upcoming federal election.
Live-to-Air:
Election Night Broadcast
As the results roll in on election night, tune in to our live-to-air coverage with real-time updates, on-the-ground reports, and expert analysis from across the country. Hosted by NCRA/ANREC member stations, this unique national broadcast will connect voices coast-to-coast and provide a true community perspective on Canada’s next government.

What To expect April 28 2025
- Real-time riding results. Stay up-to-date as live vote counts and riding-by-riding results roll in from across the country.
- Local updates from participating stations. Tune in to unique local perspectives as campus and community radio stations report on what’s happening in their regions.
- Special guest commentary. Hear insights and analysis from political experts, journalists, and community leaders throughout the night.
- Community reactions. Get a pulse on how Canadians are responding in real time, with live interviews, social media highlights, and on-the-ground reporting.
